| Ireland Lacrosse - Team Éire WEBSITE www.irelandlacrosse.ie/team-eire ABOUT Team Éire has been established as part of an Irish national lacrosse development programme. The Éire team competes in various events and tournaments, some of which are part of the selection process for the Irish national teams. Team Éire also competes regularly in ‘Festival’ tournaments that take place alongside major world championship tournaments. Eligibility for Team Éire is more flexible than for the Irish national team, including heritage, enabling players who do not make the Irish national team, or who may not be eligible, the opportunity to stay connected and contribute to the growth and development of lacrosse in Ireland. Ireland, lead by the Team Éire development program, will compete at the 2023 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship. In preparation for the tournament, organizers of the team are accepting applications from eligible players ages sixteen (16) to twenty (20) who are interested in traveling to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada for a once in a lifetime experience. Players must be born on or between January 1, 2003 – December 31, 2007. Therefore, a player must not be or be turning twenty one (21) years of age in 2023. Interested players must be considered heritage eligible, as defined by the Team Éire Development Program, including a parent/step-parent/guardian and/or grandparent/step-grandparent being born in Ireland or of Irish decent. Contributions and conditions of residency (living abroad) and/or education (college/university) also qualify players for Irish heritage. Please use the contact form below if you are interested in representing the beautiful emerald isle of Éire. Inclusion on the team and competing at the 2023 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship will directly contribute to the growth of box lacrosse in Ireland. The IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship is an immersive box lacrosse experience with, at least, six (6) full international indoor games including Round-Robin, Playoff, and Medal Games. Accommodations will be provided with transportation to and from the arenas for games and practices. Players will play and have the opportunity to attend all games of the 2023 IIJL World Junior Lacrosse Championship at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. SaskTel Centre is home to the Saskatchewan Rush of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League (WHL). |
